Brother Ainge - No major trade now - Please

Every since the draft and trade rumors for A.I. and or another "star"
Vet, I have been lurking and praying that Brother Ainge repents of any
such thoughts. Its not that I am against trading some potential for
proven players, its just that I am of the crowd that says wait and see
how this current mix of young players pans out, at least wait to the
trading deadline as a minimum so we can evaluate, project and sort our
talent based on a better sampling of data. Ainge, in my opinion, has
done a very good job of acquiring young talent, jettisoning bad
contracts, getting picks in the bargain. I think the team is now poised
to start collecting dividends from Ainges moves in the form of a
sustained winning team that should get better each and every year for
the next 5 years or so.(injuries not withstanding). That is why I think
it is crucial at this point to make sure that whatever young talent gets
shipped out in a trade/s be not the talent that we need to get us to the
next step in the future.
Our current C's are an unbalanced and interesting mix to say the least,
heavy on the 1-3 positions for sure. As others have said I think our
kiddie corps now turning to young vets - West, Allen, Perks, Gomes along
with Telfair will all be solid to good rotation guys that will improve
quite a bit from last year - Any budding all-stars to near all-stars
there, hard to tell, but I think about a third to half a season more to
see is the wisest course to finding out.
I think you can also count on limited and exciting contributions from
Green (our future all-star IMO - 2-3 years) and Rondo. I expect
Jefferson to be fine by the the time training camp breaks (health
permitting) and by mid season be a 20-25 mins 10/8 guy, more if his
defense improves.
Also, in addition to our young maturing Corps & a Pierce in his prime,
we should have a healthy Wally Z. which I think will make this team
better from last years by default. Not sure how much Ratliff has in the
tank but if he is still effective as a defensive banger that can play up
to 20 mpg, then a 4 man rotation of Perks, Gomes, Ratliff and Jefferson
might not be that bad. To me what is missing is an outside marksman from
the power rotation. Is there a cheap and effective LaFrentz type player
to be had? Maybe one becomes available as rosters get finalized when
training camps break.
SO PLEASE DANNY, NO TRADES NOW!!! ...unless for Garnett, Gasol or AK47
****see dealer for details, void where prohibitive
Lets see how this group pans out.
