A second-rate small-ball league title? Not for a NBA championship.

We, quite obviously, desperately need help at the 4 and 5. We are
overstocked with talent

and potential talent at the 2 and 3. We have added excitement, we hope
quality, at the 1.

Remember Cousy's refrain when he was beginning his stint as a
broadcaster " Wuss gotta

get those webounds." We know that "Russ" isn't coming through the door.
We also know

that Perkins and Jefferson have not yet shown they are good enough for a
contender.

Why would we lust after an aging (already over 30) prima donna with a
history of

troubling behavior with coaches?
