By whom? Plenty of list members love him. Including Telfair
fans. Most certainly including me. Here's part of my Feb. 27
post:

=====
I don't think we have any idea how good Delonte can be. Ryan
Gomes is obviously, even flashily, smart. (Handsome, too.) But I
think Delonte is at least as smart. Perkins works his butt off, and we
can see the results in his body and his post play. But I think Delonte
works at least as hard.

Delonte is not about flash. Delonte is about doing anything and
everything to be the best player he can be so his team can win ball
games. He's a perfectionist, and so inherently conservative: he
doesn't do things in a game until he feels he's *mastered* them,
even if he already does them better than anyone else on the team.

But when the day of mastery comes (and it will) . . . watch out. You
like the way he knows every backboard angle for his layups? Wait till
you see him demonstrating every kind of bounce pass on the fast
break. You heard it here first.

Delonte is in it for the long run. He defines the phrase "championship-
driven". And I mean driven. I thrill to watch him play, but I don't
think I ever want to be inside his head.

I'll say it again: I loved Ricky. But Wally is freeing up the ball so
Delonte can be Delonte. I'll take that trade any day of the week.
=====

And, on April 26th:

=====
I've known for months that Delonte is a driven guy who, barring injury,
is going to be a great guard in the NBA. With coaching, playing time,
and a little patience, I expect he'll be a great *point* guard, because
he *wants* to be, and he's insane.
=====

Doesn't mean I can't have great hopes for Telfair, too. After all,
they're both Celtics.
