I may be way wrong here, since I'm at work and don't have time to look it
up, but didn't Telfair miss a bunch of time with a serious injury? I
forget if it was last year of his rookie year, but either way, as a YOUNG
player, the dude missed a big chunk of one of his first two seasons, and
Portland thought, once he returned, that going with another player, who
was a known quantity, was better than risking that Telfair had fully
recovered. Sure, it's risky to trade for him, but given that he had to
work through an injury, is it not worth some risk, based on his raw
artistry?
