Well if that's the case then he's a lot more stupid than I think he
is, since that was one of the major issues that lead to Obie's
departure, so it's not like it's a surprise Danny sticks his fingers
in. At the same time, I suspect you're projecting things into the
situation that you might feel (and don't get me wrong - me, too)
rather than as Doc likely sees it. I don't think Doc is the sort of
control freak who would have issues with some involvement by Ainge,
and in return I think that when it comes down to it, based on what's
known of their relationship, Doc gets the backing from Ainge vis the
players that Obie didn't feel he had. And I'm sorry, but even if
you're right about how Doc feels I don't buy it as the source of all
his in game coaching limitations. And you can see at the games that
the players DO listen to him, and don't just continually brush him
off or ignore him as they would if they had the complete lack of
respect for him you imply.
