Well, as to Goody's comments - I don't get the first bit about now
that we have Telfair and Rondo what do we need AI for, since the
intended roles have nothing to do with each other. Ainge isn't
looking at AI as a pure PG distributor and defender. He's looking at
him as fellow scorer, double team deflector to complement Pierce, who
will also bring buzz and paying customers and happens to be someone
who can handle with reasonably good assist numbers and play some good defense.

Mmmm, I guess. We've currently a glut of undersized big men (Dwayne
Jones having a small growth spurt is the closest we get to a seven
footer) and undersized guards, and a ton of swingmen tweeners rather
than pure players at any position, with almost everyone too young and
on court leadership in keeping us from reverting to bad habits still
an open question at this point. I'm curious to see that happens with
that we've got too, but not so sure it's necessarily an ideal mix. I
like the deals Danny made but that's because I wasn't madly
enthusiastic about any draft picks at #7 as being difference makers
for us, while I think getting a true PG can vastly improve everyones
else's play and at least the moves showed Ainge apparently finally
recognizing that.

Maybe. But while I have every faith in his drafting, I've less faith
in Ainge's FA/trade skills or teambuilding vs talent accumulation
skills, particularly if he's got a bee in his bonnet about a
particular player. While his idea of the farm may not match ours.
Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in seeing what we've got -
somewhat enthusiastic and not in a rush to do any particular deal,
but I'm pretty sure Trader Dan isn't done for the summer and am not
wholly comfortable with that thought..
