While thinking that the other lists and blogs sound more like student chatter compared to "the list" which sounds like the faculty lounge, I think West is solidified rather than threatened by the addition of Telfair and Rondo. He's the veteran point by age, if not actual NBA minutes. It would be folly to trade West and leave next year to two new and, by us, untested points. So, I don't worry about trade rumors there.
For me, I would be happy with the team as constituted with the exception of the front line. Ratliff averaged about 24 minutes the last two years and it would be great if he could do that again. Are we thinking that D. Jones is ready for 15 minutes when needed or will we go small often enough to make up for the thin green line up front? I would like to see a Wally for Troy ?? trade (that Notre Dame guy out West) Murphy? While I think that a season with Wally would be fine, he is the logical trade bait these days.
Four guards: West, Allen, Telfair, Pierce. Two SFs: Wally and G Money. Two PFs: Al and Gomes. Two 5s: Perk and Ratliff. That's a pretty good ten man team. Bench help from Rondo, Powe, and D. Jones, maybe Allen Ray--not to mention the redhead. Cheers, Gene
