Another loss to a bad team

No Kidding. Do you think Doc will figure out that our opponent tonight played 2 OT's and scored 161 point and therefore we ought to run, run, run? Or will he trot out a half court offensive set?

I think everyone agrees it is logical that it isn't just Doc, and anyone who has coached knows they can get in there and play. But his track record is not very good, and fact is so far we are going in the wrong direction. How long does the experiment last? I still see both Doc and O'brien as being temporary, relatively low cost solutions to take some of the sting off the Pitino contract. Fact is most franchises today, other than the Red Sox Yankees & Cubs this year, don't really want to spend and offer a mediocre product and hope fans just keep coming. The NBA does handcuff some with the salary cap, but some teams like the Knicks, and you could say the C's have made a lot of bad moves. Let the kids play and see what they can do, but if it is going to be 3-4 years down the road it would seem sense to move Wally & Pierce for younger players. We have had a 3-4 year plan for 20 years and haven't been able to maneuver with the cap restrictions and bad contracts. We think we have
some good young players, but only time will tell.

Don't be surprised to see Garnett go to Chicago in a package deal for the likes of Thomas, Deng, Gordon and possibly the Knicks #1. The t-wolves at some point will need to realize this may be there only chance to rebuild before he leaves via free agency

* Yup...if you say so...that's exactly what I said. I hope everyone else
realizes that I said no such thing.

Reality is we have some young kids that we need to know if they are keepers
in a year or two, so why not give them the playing time to see what we do
have so we find out if they are closer to Joe Johnson or Chauncy Billups
than Kedrick Brown, Forte, Moiso, etc.?

* I think we are moving closer to finding out that we have a keeper in
Green, Rondo, Gomes, Jefferson, Perk and West. Even though Delonte has not
well played well yet this year, in my eyes at least, I still think he will
pick things up and be a very good player. I also read that the final play
was drawn up for Gerald to get that last shot which signals to me that Doc
was willing to use Paul as a decoy. That, even though the play was botched,
I know, I know...that was Doc's fault too, is an encouraging development
alone.

Going with more veteran players isn't going to make more than a few game
difference. We can make excuses that players were out, but look at the
Grizzlies lineup and tell me who should have won? Pierce's 9 to's didn't
help.

* Part of my point in this discussion is when do we put some onus on the
players for not playing well? When Pierce turns it over 9 times, when do we
castrate him over that fact instead of Doc this and Doc that? When the team
shoots 50-60% from the line and we lose by a couple points, when are the
players held accountable for it? I said before that I also question some of
Doc's in game decisions, but then I question every coach of my teams for
moves. In baseball, when the batter swings and misses a 1-2 slider in the
dirt, I do not blame the coach as I trust that he did not recommend that the
player use such judgement. Here's a game where we played without 2 starters
and our youngsters brought us back to where we could and should have won the
game. So Doc did just what you wanted him to do. But we lost.

Aside from this game, I think Telfair has been somewhat better than
expected. You talk Johnson and Billups, then you want to move Telfair
already after a couple months? I've seen trade proposals with the names of
Green, Jefferson, Perkins, Telfair, Rondo and Gomes. So much for wanting to
find out what they can do. Seems someone has already determined that they
can't play so let's trade them for Rashard Lewis, right? Another high
schooler who took a while before he became a player.

I think any big man without a cane and a dog could help us right now.
