Same as it ever was

I'm so tired of hearing that Pierce needs a running mate. Antoine wasn't
good enough, Ricky wasn't good enough, Wally isn't good enough. So he
needs a Garnett-level guy? Just how good is Pierce if we have to get a
top-10 player beside him in order for him to accomplish anything?

Pierce should be the guy on this team.  But he needs a running mate and
Wally isn't it.  In fact, I think part of the problem is that Wally sees
himself as the guy on the team too.
   
  And again, I would put forth both his assists and rebounds as proof
that Pierce does buy into the team system and trust his teammates.
