thanks for the link Jeff --- i'm encouraged by Jefferson's
comments.....IMO they show a continued maturation process that
Jefferson is going through.
i expect Big Al to claim the starting PF spot when healthy. I hoep
that's in camp, but i'm no doctor. Overall i'm looking forward to
this season --- though feel a bit skeptical about the ceiling we can
reach in terms of wins with so many new faces.
I still would like another big man and had hoped we'd make a play for
Scott Pollard or Melvin Ely. I've also always been a big Big Nasty
fan and while not a PF -- he's a banger. I'm afraid we still need
some more grit.
But i'm excited to see how this team works out -- i'm giddy to think
about how many more easy baskets guys like Wally, Gomes, jefferson,
green etc. will get with a couple of pass-first PGs.

One of Jefferson's recent themes, though, has been that he realizes
going into his third season that he didn't know nearly as much in his
first two years as he thought he did. That includes the importance of
optimum conditioning.
"I feel like I worked hard last summer," he said, "but one thing
(Celtics coach) Doc (Rivers) said that I agreed with was that even
though I did work hard, I could have worked harder.
"That's a difference from when I was younger," he added. "Before
I worked out because I had to. Now I work out because I want to. I
want to work out here (in Waltham) too. I want them to see me working
out. It's easy for me to call Doc and (Celtics executive director of
basketball operations) Danny (Ainge) and tell them I am working in
Mississippi. But it's a lot better for Danny to look down (from his
second floor office) here in the weight room and see me working out.
