>>Perhaps by you MTV junkies. But radio stations in general hadn't picked up
on their music yet.

>I have to object to that. Here in MB, which arguably has the worst radio
stations in the civilized world, the radio was playing U2.

You didn't *have* to object to that.
Who knows, maybe it was the crowd I was hangin' with at the time.
My intro to U2 was coming home from college ('85) to visit my High School
friends, and we were playing pool, and someone was playing U2. I liked it.
They liked it. I was impressed that my good friend Tom liked it and had
parted ways from his Scorpion addiction (blech).
That same weekend, was the Live Aid concert.
U2 clearly was a crowd favorite.
To this day I can't name the drummer or bass player. :-)

>Tommy meets Jimmy at the Lifehouse? Uh oh...is it recycled, for a moment?

Yeah, the same thoughts have crossed my mind.
But, then again, really all of Pete's work has been sort of an autobiography
with twists.
So, it makes sense that this line continues.
I'm excited to experience it.
I'm hopeful it will blow me away.
I'm afraid it won't.

It's all so .....so.....exciting.
Fear and anticipation all wrapped together.
Can't even imagine how Pete and Roger are feeling.
It's out there.
It's gonna happen.
Their hairy balls are a swinin' in the wind now.
No turning back.
This isn't just Roger saying we're going into the studio to see what sticks.
This is a commitment.
It's in the press.

Yipes!

BTW, I meant to reply to the Whofest 2004, but now can't find that post.
My sailing schedule can accommodate much.
My budget, time off from work, and family are a different matter.
Don't count me out though!
Not by a long shot!
