That's not what he's said at all. He said he looked at three or four
*sites,* plural. Not the same page three or four times. How did he
get to those "three or four" sites if not from the portal?

"I have looked at child porn sites maybe three or four times in all, the
front pages and previews. But I have only entered once using a credit card
and I have never downloaded."

See, this statement makes it seem like he chose, from the portal site,
three or four actual sites, checked out their front pages & previews, &
then used his credit card to enter *one* of those sites.

Then we get:

"I paid $5 to look at the Landslide listings. I saw the listings and went
no further."

This says to me he paid to get access to the Landslide portal, looked, &
then bailed. What happened to the "three or four" sites (plural) he
claimed before to have visited?

And another thing; now Pete is stating:

"At the time of my $5 credit card transaction I was doing research. The
campaign I proposed to begin early this year was going to be aimed en-
tirely at the incredible avalanche of listings of sites advertising porn-
nography that might involve children or minors.... I was gathering facts
about listings."

When, in early 2003, we kept hearing:

"Townshend said he looked at the porn sites as research for a book he is
writing."

So, what was the research for? To fight child porn on the internet?
Or for his autobiography? Or both?

See the inconsistencies?
