I thought it was stated in one of the interviews that the "WAY" segment was
filmed a few weeks *after* recording had been completed on WHO ARE YOU.

I know they used the actual synth track & acoustic guitar track (which may
just be *one* track, actually) from the album version for the film version.

Now, they might've filmed the actual *overdub* sessions which made it on 
the original album (the Moon, Pete, & John hand-clapping part; the Pete
& John backing vocals part; and the Pete piano part).

Perhaps the recording of the *instruments* & *main vocals* for the album 
had been finished, & Stein was allowed to film some overdubbing sessions.

Just a theory.....
