Pete's artistic compromise

See, the public simply doesn't take the time to listen to the lyrics in order to make jokes. Comedians don't have time to pour through complicated song lyrics. Jokes are about punch lines, sound bites, and in depth song lyrics aren't good sources for it.

Look, I know I sort of sparked a lot of this with my criticism, so I'll say this: If Pete insists on going ahead with this song and album title, he at least needs to make a number of public talk show appearances to explain his purpose AND set the record straight regarding the Ped accusations. Leno can't make jokes if Pete goes on his show and answers the tough questions face-to-face. To simply throw this out there and then let the chips fall where they may is not right. I am hoping the Who's management will convince Pete to either change the name or head-off the negative backlash with public appearances.
