A strangeness about Pete in the news

I think this is good news...

I've been noticing a strange split-personality quality
in mentions of Pete in the press. It's as if there
were two Pete Townshends, the one arrested for
Internet pedophilia and the one who plays (and
smashes) guitar for The Who.

Whenever a story of Internet pedophilia arrests comes
up, Pete is still always mentioned. However, whenever
Pete is mentioned tangentially in a rock context
(someone plays guitar like Pete, someone writes a song
like Pete, John Entwistle was a member of a band with
member Pete Townshend) there's no mention of the
recent troubles at all. Plus few writers seem to have
any trouble bringing Pete's name up in any context. No
need at all to even qualify his name with adjectives
(suspected pedophile Pete) or to mention his recent
troubles in any way. It's as if it all never happened.
Weird but good I suppose.
