Re: My age

I'm 48...will be 49 next week...lived through Beatlemania....still have my original Who albums and all my original Beatle albums...and about 1700 LP's, as well...and this old codger can remember what "it" was all about before Madison Avenue ruined it. And after 35 years of waiting patiently, got to meet Pete & Roger last year, which was wonderful. Good things come to those who wait.... Jai Guru Deva...Om...and I'm still not gonna take it (ha...) It's funny cause I have >the Eyesight to the Blind from 1989 and rog sounds
awesome on it. Any answers or thoughts?

I saw the second of two shows in Foxboro, MA on that tour. A friend of mine
was at the first night and told me that Roger was struggling with his voice
all night and Pete had to step in for some of the vocals. He sounded fine
at my show a night or two later. I guess Rog had some problems with his
voice on that tour.

There's a report about that first Foxboro show at:

Hello,

I just finished 3 quick sets at my kids' school. First I performed
for about 20 min each in each of the 3rd grade classrooms (my son
is in one of them), and in the
afternoon I have to go back for the sixth grade, which my daughter is
in.

We did a great Magic Bus. My volunteers helped with some shakers,
a tambourine, and a wood block; while I played the guitar. The
response of "Too Much, It's a Magic Bus" to my calls was brilliant.
I wrote it on the blackboard and went over the Bo Diddly beat with them.

I also did a little of I Can't Explain.

This afternoon, I am definitely doing The Kids Are Alright, an perhaps
some Won't Get Fooled Again.

The kids dug it!

Bahahahah!
Can't ya just see the look of fear and surprise on those kids faces as Joe suddenly gets up off his chair, kicks the metal trash can across the floor, and then proceeds to mercilessly smash his guitar into a million pieces??!!

Oh man, what I'd pay to see *that*!

Too funny.

well, I didn't know that before I saw him play. I think he's very good. just
one person's opinion and I didn't mean it to be offensive. you'd be
surprised how many talented people there are who have some kind of ties to
well known personnel and not just kenny.

I don't mean to belittle your opinion, I just think he lacks originality
among other things and wouldn't put him in a 'guitar hero' catergory. His
band is ok, but he needs to learn to compose and sing if he wants to go much
further. And there are many talented people with some kind of ties to well
known personnel but you forgot one thing: Kenny isn't really that talented.
Would he be where he is (was?) if not for daddy's connections? Talking of
new guitar heroes, I prefer Derek Trucks. Granted he has ties to well known
personnel but he is far more talented than say Johnny Lang or KWS. Go into
any club any night of the week and you'll see players better than KWS or
Johnny Lang (or Jack White for that matter). Unfortuantely, we all know that
talent does not bring fame. We sometimes forget that the opposite is also
true.

If you have a chance to catch this show, don't miss it! Saw them in Boulder last night. Great venue. Unbelievable show. Nasty guitar. Songs played well. Zak was unreal; he never ceases to amaze me. He can hold down the beat and anchor the song, then lead it into uncharted territory seconds later. They really stretched out some of the songs and Zak and Marr obviously are able to take it up a notch and feed off each other much like Zak and Pete. Can't say enough about how good it was. Palo Alto opened; one of the better opening bands I've heard in a while.

Don't miss 'em,

Oz
