British Musician Cleared of Child Porn Charges
LONDON (Reuters) - A member of British dance group Massive Attack was
cleared on Friday of all charges relating to Internet pornography offences,
police said.
Robert Del Naja -- known to fans as 3D -- was arrested on February 25 in his
home city of Bristol as part of Operation Ore, a year-long nationwide
crackdown on Internet child pornography.
"All charges have been dropped against a man in his 30s from Bristol because
of insufficient evidence," a spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset police told
Reuters.
De Naja, 36, has always denied the allegations.
"I have never looked at child pornography in my life" he told the Sun
newspaper at the time of his arrest.
"I am fully co-operating with the police and I would ask everyone not to
judge me prematurely. I have total faith in the justice system," he said.
Massive Attack are best known for their hit single "Unfinished Sympathy" off
their 1991 critically acclaimed Blue Lines album. Other hits include
"Protection" and "Teardrop."
De Naja was recently in the press for joining anti-war protesters and
lobbying the government against the military campaign in Iraq (news - web
