Maybe he meant that he was a tough, good looking young man with a future full 
of promise.  He "looks at the kids on the street today and says to himself 
... they're alright, they're ok."  He may have been remembering himself to 
appreciate what he now sees instead of looking down his nose at all the 
Eminem fans etc.  It is such a positive word.  He's holding on to the kid 
that's inside, cuz he's alright. 

Roger should write songs like this.  It is a beautiful balance to Pete's 
eloquent writing just like Pete's voice is to Roger's in song. They go 
together. Much to say here.
