Jimmy's story is certainly one of struggling to fit
in, casting about for ways to do it.  The blues and
gin - and perhaps the music and the sex and fashion
and the Vespas and the fights - are ways of making the
poor fit between Jimmy and happiness less onerous.  He
tries each in turn and none satisfy.  Only by looking
in himself and outward to creation does he make the
connection.

In Jim's list of things that might hinder an
appreciation of Quad, I think that being popular might
be the biggest impediment - then again, alot of
popular people are pretty sad inside anyway, arent'
they?
