Yes, it's appalling -- but she has accepted it and put up with it for
more than 30 years.

And she could have told him to stuff it up his ass. I can't imagine
any woman accepting a marriage proposal that went like that -- "I'll
marry you, but I'm not going to stop whoring around. Take it or leave
it."

As much as he gushes about his love for her and how nobody else will
ever get the "key to his heart," that part of the interview *reeked*
of hostility toward her, IMO. Most women whose husbands screw around
don't accept it, and the very few who do accept it do so only on the
basis that it's discreet and never embarrasses them publicly. 

To tell the world that you screw around on your wife and are
frequently attracted to other women is a very public slap in the
wife's face. It's like saying to her "You're not good/sexy/hot enough
for me."
