well, they were saying that GC is like the sex pistols. believe me, they're 
not. as far as comparing them to the ramones, the ramones were a bit pop also, 
compared to the pistols, but compared to these GC guys, the ramones are still 
harder.  wanna hear some real contemporary punk? pick up the yeah yeah yeahs' 
debut CD if ya can (their VERY first CD, the EP). more like "art" punk but 
still punk nonetheless. or just listen to "Little steven's underground garage" 
radio show which is like the best show to hit radio in a long time. besides 
playing "real" contemporary punk, he also plays the who and others from the early 
british invasion period that don't get played often on contemporary radio.

(yes, it is the same "Little steven" that's known mostly as the guitarist in 
springsteen's E-street band. or perhaps silvio dante on the "sopranos")
