In addition to the European Heroes special issue, which follows
the success of the TIME 2002 Asian Heroes franchise, TIME launched
its first-ever online poll offering readers the opportunity to
nominate their regional hero. The result of the poll will be
announced on 20 April and will be honoured along with heroes from the
special issue at an awards ceremony at the Royal Opera House on 21
May.
