Howard Stern
Interesting thread regarding Howard Stern !
Whether or not he likes the Who's music is debatable, but I remember when
John died he made comments to the effect of "so what, it's just the bass
player", as well as rude song parodies when Pete's problems began earlier
this year (Baba O-Riley's lyrics being changed to "pre-teen playland ;
they're all NAKED", among others). I love the Who, and I love Howard, but
I'll admit my bottom lip still hurts from biting it so hard during the
discussion of the 2 aforementioned items. Howard did make one interesting
point. Sir Elton, upon hearing of Pete's questioning (was he actually ever
arrested?) saying "I hope it's not as bad as it seems". Howard said pretty
much "some friend he is". I agreed totally. With friends like him, who
needs shock-jocks ?
2 more items and I'll sign off :
Why is the song THE RELAY only on the box-set ? Seems to me it could have
fit on the WN re-re-re-reissue.
Republicans like great rock n roll, too. The only Republican rock star I kn
ow of is Johnny Ramone, and if he can suck it up and play "Bonzo goes to
Bitburg" (an anti-Ronald Reagen song), conservative rock fans shouldn't be
such a stretch.
Good day, and peace be with you all !
