I agree with above.
But, I read Cobain's comment a bit differently.
Since he already admits to being a "fake" due to having to repeatedly jump
around like a fool, etc., etc. I see his comment about Pete as being
deeper. I actually read it as sympathy for Pete and how he must be trapped
by all the things (windmills, jumps, type of music) that made him famous. I
saw it as a slam on us fans, and that he sees Pete as the great performer
who has gone through the same frustrations with fans that Pete has gone
through. Hey, he saw eye-2-eye with Pete.
I actually saw it as quite a compliment.
But, I'm also strange. So, go figure.

Oh Scott, you're soooooo immature. Haven't you grown up yet to the point of
arrogance that you don't care what people think? Come on, have some balls.
Fuck everyone and what everyone thinks, feels, care about, like, do, see,
hear. Be your own bastard of a man. Fuck the world and be a snide contrary
bastard. You know who you are, and no one in this world can offer anything
to learn from. You have arrived. You are old. Why should you care?

I'll tell ya why........
The Who is an important part of who you are (god bless you, you little Akron
who-acorn....I mean nut!). It represents not *just* great music, but it
represents for some of us a religion, a way of being, a way of life if you
will.
Some only hear music and leave it at that. Others (those that I take notice
of) hear music and messages and believe strongly in those messages, and want
others to believe in those messages as well. When they don't, it's like
insulting your whole belief system.
You are a deciple. You are a messenger. You care.
We need more like you.

Great story. Thanks for sharing!

Like a little school girl? ;-)
I wish I could play guitar good enough to experience that feeling.
Until then, I can only dream.

Did I miss something? Who the heck is Rizzle?

I remember watching the Toronto video and thinking.."oh jeez, what the fuck
is this?). I questioned The Who. I questioned myself. It was depressing.
I saw it as the death of The Who. Wasn't too hard to analyze *that* show.
