Voices

I take it back.
I took a long drive today through the mountains (peak foliage season) and
listened to the entire Hershey show again. This time, really listening
carefully to every note Roger sang.
His voice was great. Yeah, there were some songs where he does this
descending tone at the end of words like You-u-u- (who are you), where he
starts at one pitch and ends up on a deeper note. Blechhhh.
But, on songs like Tricky Day, that are technically very difficult for a
singer, he aced them.
Last evening I did a sit down with some of my 2000 boots.
With out question, Roger's voice in 2002 is stronger than 2000.
And, no, I didn't compare to the glory-days past. Just not fair to do that.
Apples and Oranges don't ya know.
Age will hamper the voice. Can't avoid it.

While I'm at it...I remember some comments about John's voice, and that it's
decline must have been due to his smoking and drinking, etc.
B...S.
First of all, any sort of decline would be due to his failing hearing.
But, when I stood 3ft in front of him while he sang Heaven and Hell, he
didn't miss a note. Not a one.
Go figure.

BTW.
The Hershey show is by far....BY FAR.....one of the strongest Who
performances I've ever heard.
It's that FUCKING excellent. Easily the strongest show I saw this summer.
Wish I had copies of Irvine and MSG 4 which have been listed as challengers
for the top show this tour.
Wish John had been there.
Wish we could turn the clock back to prior to John's death.
That day just sucked.
