I hope I'm not the only person here who remembers an interview from years
(decades?) ago in which Pete says the same thing, something about being
backstage after the show having done a good show and "come your
lot"...which led to discussions about the band itself being the male
(initiator) partner and the audience being the female (receptor) part of
the interaction.  And of course there's the classic recent interchange:

Pete:  Doing a good show is better than having sex.

Roger:  You must never have had really good sex.

Pete:  You must never have had a really good show.
