The mind is *part* of the soul. It is the leading part. My point was that
the mind should be set on the *spirit* (the human spirit) to see the
spiritual things. The spirit will also cause the mind to function properly.
But it requires our will to choose this to happen. We are by default in our
fallen mind. Of this fact I have no doubts. This is where the seeking is
needed.

This is for sure. Our eyelids are much faster than our minds! (Well, *my*
mind at least). This is no doubt built-in survival instinct. A baby
automatically knows how to nurse. Then comes the age for decision making...

>>I don't think we're as free as we think we are. But in any case freedom
tastes of reality.

This is a thought that comes from experience. We are bound by things that we
may not even realize. I would rather have genuine freedom.

>>by Biblical accounts the actions of the described God are those of a
spoiled child. Jealous, petty, demanding, unreasonable, unyielding...you
certainly wouldn't want to invite someone like that to a party.

This is the gross misunderstanding that I spoke of earlier.

the same as yours?" Trial Before Pilate from Jesus Christ Superstar.

Truth is a Person. "I am." This requires spiritual sight to see.

"And you shall know the *Truth* and the *Truth* shall set you free....And if
the *Son* sets you free you will be truly free". The truth =the Son of God,
who is the very God incarnated as a man. God wants to dwell in man. This is
the story of the universe.

Freedom indeed tastes of reality. What insight!
