2002 tour and shows

Well, I hoped to see a few shows, ...cost was too high, and being in BC
Canada, the Gorge was the only show I could make.

Of course, the truck (89 S10) broke down on the way home, then after the
repair, I was hit from behind in traffic.....a long drive home to a dying cat.

Wished I could have seen more, but I couldn't cut the cost - would have
liked to fly to TO to see the last show, but alas, cost of flight, and
tickets (and wife's real complaints) I couldn't/didn't

I loved the show - I felt it was a good bye visit.

I loved 2000 show too - many different aspects of the trip around the
concert - rode my motorcycle, met friends, etc...this year was the truck
and no friends to meet.

So different - energy was high at both (the Gorge both times), cried at
both... different reasons? missed the bass runs and complexity this summer,
but felt that Pete was happy (not angry as in 2000 gorge) and so more
interactive - also felt he went for the gusto more this time (no worries
about bass/personnel?) and of course the guitar smashing was worth the
price of entry (even the bass lost to the Counting Crowes bassist who ened
by smashing his in honour of)

Either way, I'm just so thankful that I got to see a full energy Who twice
(three times including 96 Quad in Vancouver, which I really really loved -
cried too), but the 89 with my wife there with me was special too - I never
thought I'd share 'em with her - even in big band mode.

So, what to say.

Every time I see them I feel like its me and a huge number of friends
listening to friend spour out their hearts, I become young again - I get
touched (by the music you people :)) like no other sonic experience I have
yet to experience.
