Entwistle (like Daltrey) has never impressed me intellectually, just as a performer. Pete was the genius, and Moon perhaps also very intelligent albeit in a less controlled manner.

John was pretty quiet, but if the bit of writing pubhished on AMW really was his, then he was really funny and a great writer. Maybe not as deep a thinker as Pete, but not dumb either. Did he suffer from depression maybe? It's the kind of thing that can kill you slowly like that.
