Doesn't everybody have "issues" with their parents?  These are the formative 
influences in childhood, after all.  But I'll agree that post-war Britain 
was a difficult place, and likely contributed to some  worse than usual 
personality struggles.

Britain in general is a strange place, though.  Likely there would have been 
personality struggles without the war.
