Re: Greedy Townshend

John;

Then unsibscribe from this list if you want to. I more understand Roger's point of view, but this is really how it all is and was. John never really had any say in whether to tour or not to tour. But he always wanted to tour. And ofcourse, you can always expect this reaction from Pete (artsy-fartsy he is!).
I don't think it's disgusting or disrespectful, it's Pete. He lost my respect a lot of time because of things he said. But now I know how to interpret it.

They went on with SBE in 1999 when John was very ill (and I mean *very* ill). His mother told me she had never ever seen him that ill since he was a child. Still he was determined to play, he wanted everything to go on. He enjoyed it. And I know that's how he must think up there now as well. As long as Pete, Roger, Zak, Rabbit and THE AUDIENCE enjoy it.

For my part I am not attempting to deliberately establish any sense of
memorial
or tribute to John. I don't know for certain that John would have wanted us
to
go on, neither would it matter if I thought he would not have approved. I
simply believe we have a duty to go on, to ourselves, ticket buyers, staff,
promoters, big and little people. I also have a duty to myself, my dependent
family and friends, and to guide Roger and the rest of the band at this time.

Roger left the decision as to whether to go on or not to me. I think he hoped
in his heart it would not be over so suddenly.

That's outrageous and disgusting. Pete Townshend you will lose all respect.
