Re: New Daltrey VH1 interview

"My impression from this interview is that Roger is an incredibly selfish person who wants it all his own way."

John,
But then again, you don't want to have his babies ;-)

I have the same impression of Roger.

After watching some of his intros and outros on VH1 Classic this weekend, I'm also left with the impression that he has developed his ego by impersonating Pete Townshend. Sometimes it works. Somtimes not so much.

Two of these were particularly galling to me. I don't have his exact words, just my take.
His intro to "Eminence Front" included his analysis of what made Pete write it. "The Who saved him from killing himself."

In talking about Tommy he said something like "I was not prepared for the way my newfound fame distanced me from my audience. We were always a working class band of the people. Tommy made that difficult."

I'm with you, John. I would prefer that Roger keep histhoughts to himself. He does not give me a 'warm and fuzzy'. Keep singing and twirling Rog!!!

I've been thinking that given all the PR that Rog has been pumping out, the 2002 US tour should be dubbed the "See My Way" Tour :0)

OK Lela, let me have it ;-)

Buck
