Let me preface this by stating the following: Pete Townshend is the most
important member of the Who, is today the most amazing on-stage who member,
is possibly the most talented rock musician ever, and is by far my favorite
who member. Now:

Come on, AEB. I wasn't the one who ripped Pete left, right, up, down, and
sideways about his negative attitude toward the new album. I think it WOULD
be easy to "say" what I suggested he should say about the new album. I never
said anywhere that any creative work with the Who would be "easy." Not sure
how you
could interpret anything about my post that implied that. I just wish he
would stop expounding on all the obstacles to the album and just say "we're
going to give it our best shot. I really hope the material is good enough to
release." Pete's best work (and I know you will fly into a rage over this)
was what he did with the Who. It revolutionized rock music in a number of
dramatic ways. His solo stuff may be excellent, but none of it has had even
a fraction of the impact on music that his Who work did. Is it such a
stretch to believe he could do it again after 20 years? I don't want him to
mislead us or be dishonest, but I also don't want him to go into the studio
with such a defeatist attitude and I am tired of hearing that roger is
dragging him into the studio and the stuff they do will probably be terrible
(i'm reading in between the lines) and not worthy of release. I also don't
get your comment about counting the 33 windmills at swansea during WGFA.
Maybe you can answer that question for me. Was it 33, or was he just playing
the guitar in another way? I wonder if it was as easy to count the windmills
as it was for you to count the number of times I used "I" in my posts?
