Regarding Schrade's "pissy" review of Pete's interview.........

Your frustration is valid, but you're reading it all too literally.
I see Pete as having a split personality.  He acts one way with the media,
in a way that let's him feel all safe, and then acts a totally different way
in reality.
I think he's pulling VH1's leg regarding the album.
If he's talking the truth, I'm fearing the outcome as well.  But, please,
bring a can of Morton Salt with yaz when you read this.
A Who album written by Roger.  Ha!

So, what book has Pete been writing?  Why, The Boy WHO Heard Music, that's
what!  The songs go with the book, just as he wrote to us last on his web
site.
What new songs will The Who be playing this tour????

Cause George Ligouri told me (not really)!  And look at his recent track
record!!!  Hell, Bjorn's back on The Who band-wagon and everything (fair
weather fan ;-) !!!

Pete's not embarrassed to write songs because he doesn't "officially" know
how to write.  If you look at his past achievements, it's a damn good thing
he *doesn't* know how to write in official ABBA, or ABAB, or ABCABC or doe,
rea, me ways.  Fuck all that.  That's what they teach you in Junior High in
music class.  Throw that shite out the window.
Pete's embarrassed to write with others because he's embarrassed to uncover
his soul in front of others.  He tackles that on stage.
He's a sensitive bloke that one.  He *has* to do this process by himself.
He's fragile and has always been so.
It's more like this:

Girlfriend: Hey Pete you 'hung like a dog' stud you.
Pete: Yes love?
GF: Come here and lets share some song writing.
Pete: (mumbling) Jeez 'o flip.  Been giving this girl every *inch* of my
time and now she wants this too?
GF: Well?
Pete: You take the lead.  You start it
GF: Love is an anchor.  Love is my life.  Love is so good.  Come and make me
your wife
Pete:  WHAT THE FOK is this shite!  I'm not going any further.  You don't
know what love is!  I know love, and love is not good. Love
is...is....is..<sniffle>..ah hell,  I'll be in my studio.
<Pete storms out and loses himself in the studio for hours>

GF: where ya been Petey?
Pete: writing songs.  You still here?  What's the score of the football
match?
