This appeared in another forum (the Dylan group of all places) on the CC's
singer's reaction to his own fans complaining that the Crows warmup set was
too short, thanks to Bkindmoore.

<< Yeah, Adam is a tremendous Who fan. He came down very hard on his own
fans when they complained about the brevity of the Counting Crow's opening
and said that they had paid their money just to see Counting Crows.
>>

Here is what Adam actually said:

"For those of you who come to concerts where we are the opening band and
then complain about the set length -- SHUT UP! This has got to be the most
numbskull complaint I have ever heard. Yes, we are a headlining band, but
we were not headlining on that night and you knew that when you came. Did
you not see the huge THE WHO written above the small counting crows? The
times are set well in advance and there is nothing at all we can do to
change them. There are plenty of cc shows coming up in the next year, but
people paid a lot of money to see the who on this tour and that's the band
that they should see. If you paid $200 just to see us, then you missed
out. I snuck down to the front for
three of the shows so far and it has been the most awe inspiring musical
experience of my life. Sheer rock majesty. I'm glad you like our band but
if all you got out of the concert was to be bummed out then you really
missed the boat. These guys are the best rock band on the planet."
