Yeah, really.  TED drove the sound.  The fans shouldn't try to limit such 
accomplished musicians as TED to just a four (or five) piece band.  It was 
expensive to drag along the extra musicians, and maybe they decided it was 
limiting in the end, but it opened up whole new aspects of the music.  It 
took the bigger bands to do justice to the rock opera.  The small band 
productions had their charm, but the music always seemed thin without the 
extra voices they included on the albums--and I'll take the live musicians 
any day over backing tapes.
