I like "Armenia." I may even *love* "Armenia." I liked it the first
time I listened to SELL OUT; it didn't have to "grow on me."

Yeah, as stated: "Who psychedelia." Love it. I wish The Who did more
psychedelic songs. "Jaguar" is kind of psychedelic, too. Love it.

I have to laugh sometimes when rock journalists, thinking that they're
being profound, state that "I Can See For Miles" was The Who's foray
into psychedelia. I say to myself, "You think *that's* psychedelic,
listen to "Armenia!"

I'll tell ya' - those are some seriously nasty bass lines in "Armenia."
Plus the drifting, fading horn parts. Lots of OX in "Armenia." And
Daltrey. Great phrasing & enunciation by Daltrey. He sounds like a
16-year old who's discovered acid for the first time! Weird, child-like
delivery.

Moon's drums are nicely understated, somewhat quiet in the mix, & pan-
ned hard to one channel I believe (is it left or right?). Contradict-
ing the critics & their tired cliche's about Moon being a basher, always
trying to hit every drum at once. Moon knew his role within a song.
He was unselfish enough to know when it was better just to lay back &
keep a solid backbeat. He approached each song with a well-studied game
plan. A thinking man's drummer. Multi-dimensional. Critics don't seem
to want to mention that. But *we* know....

And let's not forget Mr. Pete in "Armenia." Besides the backwards solo-
ing, we're favored with the trademark toggle-switch, Morse code effect
which fits quite nicely with the echoing horns & other weirdness going
on.

But, man, those nasty bass lines....(sigh)....OX. The fucking OX. Do
all of you realize how privileged we were to have seen that man play?
The OX.

(sigh)

Anyway, "Armenia"..... I love it.
