Well, they have to draw the line somewhere. Remember, the majority of people
going to these concerts aren't Who fans with a lot of knowledge about the
more obscure Who songs. They can do a few, but will piss all sorts of people
off if they don't have the standards in the set. People want to hear BOR,
WGFA, PW, MB, BBE, ICE, MG... there should be enough time left for some
lesser-known yet still incredible stuff, like Relay, YMB, etc. You say
"anything" from quad? The RAH 2000 concert had 5.15, the real me, i'm one,
and drowned. What more do you want? They've shown that YMB is back in their
line-up with the shows from 2002. We all have less popular Who tunes we want
to hear. I'd go nuts if they pulled out Trick of the light, sensation, and
905, but they prob won't and that's cool. In 2000 they did So sad about us,
relay, my wife and the quad stuff, and some others. I think we need to stop
nit-picking over the setlists and be happy they're touring. If people don't
want to hear the biggest hits, don't go. I do agree with you, however, that
they should be able to do ANY who song, even if some rearrangement is
necessary. These are the best musicians in the world, i think they could do
ICSFM without an extra guitar. I think the main reason any song might be
harder than another is roger's voice range these days. There are some notes
he has a tough time hitting. I don't care, however, as long as they play the
shit out of everything they play.
