Exactly, Bjorn.  I'm not going to put you down because of what you
like or don't like.  (But please, don't bring any Country to play at
my house when you visit; I'm sure we can find some common ground on
some disco stuff.)

When Nick (in Salt Lake) comes over for our little Who fests, I've
been exposing him to other music that I like.  Some of it he grooves
on very much and some of it is not to his liking.  We don't get into
arguments and start calling each other names because of our different
musical tastes, we just make note of the differences and move on to
share more tastes we have in common.  I've been exposed to many
different kinds of music I never would have heard otherwise through
this sort of exchange with friends: King Sunny Ade, Bob Marley, Toots
and the Maytals, Brian Eno, David Byrne, and more.

The only Beatles-related thing I've ever purchased myself was George
Harrison's 3-album which I purchased for the great jam session on the
3rd LP.  (The title eludes me at the moment, its with most of my vinyl
at my parent's house and I haven't listened to it for 10 years.)  That
was the only music ever produced by any of them that moved me to the
point of purchase.

I had exactly the same reaction when I saw the Mona Lisa hanging in
the Louvre.  Way fucking overrated.  I'd much rather have something by
Canaletto.
