RES: Pete gear question.

Kevin,

I've read something about Pete's gear in a interview (I can not remember
where). In the eraly 80's, I believe he was using distortion right from
the amplifier (Hiwatt, 2 4x12 cabinets?) and controlling the amount of
distortion from the guitar. Sometimes, he used MXR compression sustain
unit, guitar picks from Manny's (mediums), Gibson Sonomatic strings
(medium gauge).

I'm not sure if he used all this stuff in the Farewell Tour, but it may
help you, someway, I believe.

Does anyone happen to know what kind of overdrive unit Pete was using on
the
1982 tour ?
Listened to a few boots and I like the sound.
