Kevin,
I agree.  There are some people here in Wholand (and maybe in the inner Who 
circle) that think new material should be the goal and must be pursued.  Any 
mis-steps or veering away from new material is taken as a slap to the wishes 
of these people.

In this mindset:  If Pete teases us, it is because he has character flaws.  
If Roger writes something that is sub par (per Pete), he is a weak artist.  
If John pursues other opportunities (like a Beatles Tribute), he is 
insulting the legacy of The Who.

It would not be a tragedy if The Who never recorded any new music.  It would 
be a tragedy if they recored some new music that they were not comfortable 
with.
