October 24, 2001 -- LAST Saturday's "Concert for New York City" proved to be a ratings bonanza for VH1 and Ch. 13 - the two local
outlets that aired the all-star concert to raise money for the victims of Sept. 11.
According to VH1, roughly 16 million people watched all or part of the concert nationwide from 7 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.
That helped VH1 snag its highest-rated night in network history, shattering the previous record held by the "Divas Live" concert in
1999....
