Pete's themes

I've just finished listening to these, and the are certainly lovely little
things, even if brief and pretty dissonant. They sound like the little
personal interlude pas des deux that happen between major solos at the
ballet. So what's Pete going to do with 'em?

If he's putting together a ballet, they need something to vary the sound and
pull them together into a coherent whole--like some crashing major solo
pieces, for example, to balance the pas des deux effect. These themes sound
incomplete because they wander around and never resolve to a melody. The
crashing major solo pieces will need a definite melody, of course. Melody
is the main voice of music that takes the place of a lyrics line and makes
the statement of the composition.

The great thing about The Who is that they get dissonant like this, but then
they pull back together into something beautifully melodic. Who music is
complete. It could be orchestrated the way it's played and be satisfying.
So what produces the "competeness" effect? The lyrics line? The bass line?
I think both are missing from these themes.

Think Pete should do a remix with 'em? Add some bass and lyrical techno
effects? :)
