The Year in Music

I just caught 2001: THE YEAR IN MUSIC on VH1. They covered the
September 11 tragedy and the benefit performances early on, including
The Concert for NYC. There were shots of McCartney and Townshend at
the finale, but mostly it was fairly extended footage of The Who's
performance and the audience reaction. There was also a brief comment
from Roger backstage.

VH1 has a poll up for the show, with one question that asks which was
your favorite benefit. Concert for NYC is currently leading.

One item of note, the show declared that in 2001 there had been a
"resurgance of rock music" and of singer/songwriters (as opposed to
prefab groups).
