about Reg Dwight...

I didn't get a chance to respond to the emails
reagrding ol' Reg Dwight aka Elton John but I will put
in my two cents worth in support of the guy who once
performed some brilliant shows. He did have some great
songs either written by Taupin or otherwise co-wrote
with him. But like The Who to see the real thing is to
see him live.

A great voice back in the 70's and an uncanny knack
for playing a superb set of keys at the same time! he
really did put on a superb gig.

Even when he did the Silver Cleff Award show at
Knebworth Park in the mid 80's he was still on top
form performing a fantastic "Saturday Night's"... as
well as other numbers.

But alas he has indeed taken the spiral path down
these past few years and these stupid duets, credit
card endorsements, and other very commercial moves
have made him look a fool in my opinion and no I
wouldn't pay to see him live today, memories serve
better.

Best,

Dave...
