RE: "worst rock melt-downs"



Brian Wilson and Elvis would have to be near or at the top of my list.  As
with The Who, their falls were particularly hard because of the height they
fell from.

On further reflection, I was a bit harsh on early Elton this morning.  He
did collaborate and perform some great songs in the 70s.  "Tiny Dancer" and
"Funeral for a Friend" are outstanding.

re:  Randy Newman.  The songs he wrote for the "Toy Story" movies are first
rate.  The song that Sarah MacLaughlin (sp?) performed in TS2 made my
4-year-old cry @ a movie for the first time in her young life.  That is
artistic success in my book.  He has done some wonderful movie work,
starting with "The Natural".  Not rock, but great stuff nonetheless.
