u2
there was an article a few weeks back in the USA today bout how the Dave
Matthews band has risen to stadium status. It mentioned how u2 is back to
playing arena's on this tour, how nirvana, pearl jam, and smashing pumpkins
have all fizzled in popularity. u2 is older but wiser. They are not trying to
out spend everyone like they did on the last 2 tours. they tried to do too
much in the past I think.
NEW ALBUM?
I think the who will do a new album. Pete enjoys playing with the who again
and IMHO, I believe he wants to prove he can still write a great album. IMHO
and I have no evidence to back any of this up I think he came back on the
last tour on all electric to prove to everyone he is still one of the best at
playing guitar. I know Pete is the most critical person in the world, as is
Roger and john, and they will not release an album, as Roger said "if it is
rubbish," but I don't want to see the band on its hard. If a new album bombs
so be it, but they should not go out on a half ass album like its hard.
A lot of people say Pete has lost his songwriting abilities. I disagree.
After the who ended recording in 1982, he still wrote after the fire, let my
love open the door (circa 1981 actually), face dances (the song), rough boys,
a little is enough, and YBYB(which with zak is a great song!!!!!!!! A ROCK
SONG!!!!)
Steely dan, u2, santana, have all come back with critically acclaimed albums
and so can the who. Lets face it: if the who release a new album, would there
be an album more anticipated than the one the who do??
