The Who to Release Live DVD

Eddie Vedder, Noel Gallagher to appear on Who DVD
The Who's November 27th benefit concert for Teenage
Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall performance will
be released as a DVD this spring. The benefit was captured
by MCY, the same crew that Webcast Paul McCartney's
performance at Liverpool's Cavern, as well concerts by 'N
Sync and Luciano Pavarotti.
The performance's guest list includes Eddie Vedder (who
sings three songs, "I'm the One," "Getting In Tune" and "Let's
See Action"), Stereophonics' Kelly Jones, Oasis' Noel
Gallagher, Bryan Adams (who trades lead vocals with Roger
Daltrey on "Behind Blue Eyes") and Paul Weller, who duets
with Pete Townshend on "So Sad About Us."
"The event was a smash," Townshend said of the benefit. "I had a lot of fun
and Roger sang better than I'd heard him in years. His obvious delight in
the whole thing was very moving indeed. All the guests were terrific."

In other Townshend news, the guitarist will re-team with Des
McAnuff, the director of the Tony and Oliver Award-winning stage
adaptation of the Who's rock opera Tommy for a benefit this April for
the La Jolla Playhouse in California. While McAnuff and
Townshend are still hammering out details, Townshend has agreed in
principle.

"We are in discussions with Pete and would love for him to come to
the Playhouse this spring to perform at a benefit for our new building
program," said McAnuff, who is also the Playhouse's interim artistic
director. McAnuff first produced the theatrical version of Tommy at the La
Jolla Playhouse in 1992, before bringing it to theaters in New York and
London.
