I didn't see that one, but I did read the reviews.  Here's a good comment at

This may be standard problems with biopics, as I recall BEST (biopic of 
George Best) got some of the same complaints.  I did see that one and 
agreed.  I guess it's easy to fall into showing the events and failing to 
make them meaningful to the story.  Movies are really short when it comes to 
reviewing a whole lifetime, so events in the movie should have some 
purpose--like to provide insight into what made people behave (or achieve) 
as they did.

I had sort of thought so too, but rumor is that Jason Schwartzman is to be 
Moonie--the young one, anyway.

I think Roger has said he wants the movie to be about Moon as a person, and 
about the music.  Do you think these are conflicting goals?
