Record Convention

I went to the local record convention today & got some WHO / Pete
stuff.

1. Pittsburgh Star Lake 6/29/00 double CD (CD-R's actually).
Fair-ish sounding audience DAT recording with an 'orrible
high-end noise running throughout, forcing me to greatly re-
duce the treble! Definitely not as good as the Jones Beach
CD boot. Oh yeah, the title is LET'S SEE ACTION. I was
at this concert so naturally I *had* to buy it!

2. 12" white label vinyl promo single "Ask Yourself" b/w "
"Brooklyn Kids." I can't recall ever coming across this at
a record show before. I "scooped" it up for $8.00!

3. 12" white label vinyl promo single "Eminence Front (edit)"
b/w "Eminence Front (LP version)." I was extremely happy
to pay $12.00 for this because I've seen it selling in NYC
    for between $40.00 & $50.00!

4. 12" white label vinyl promo single "Face The Face" b/w "Hid-
ing Out." I nearly didn't buy it, thinking I already had it, then
I realized it was the nicer, picture-sleeve version I had, not
this one. Whit label promo records are bland, no pictures
on the covers, etc. I bought this from CVC Collectibles, of
which fellow lister Greg Biggs is an owner. However, once
again, it was only Greg's hard-working wife manning the table
& doing all the dirty work. Tsk tsk. The record was a reason-
    able $10.00.

One thing I noticed at this convention is that the 'first wave' of WHO
CD boots are now being bootlegged (!) onto cheaper CD-R copies.
I'm not sure why exactly, but this made me sad.

Oh well, it was an OK record convention. Any time I can add to
my WHO / WHO-related vinyl collection is a happy day indeed.
